On 9 March 1976, Provincial Governor Paulo Egídio Martins authorized the construction of the church within the previously established limits, ending discussions with Condephaat and other social actors that opposed the donation for the reconstruction of the church.
A new fundraising campaign was begun, but which proved to be quite troublesome and was only resolved between 1976 and 1979 when the city donated a significant portion of the necessary funds for the completion of the building (Canado Junior 199).
